Zayed University welcomes 2,237 freshmen for 2018/2019 academic year

ABU DHABI, 26th August, 2018 (WAM) — A new semester began on 26th August in the 2018-2019 academic year at Zayed University, ZU, which concludes in mid-December.

The university welcomed 2,237 freshmen students to join the undergraduate programme, with the total number of students reaching 10,596. The number of registered students is expected to increase, as the number of new applicants is on the rise.

The total number of ZU students in both campuses is recorded as follows: 6,543 students at the Abu Dhabi campus, with 5,341 females and 1,202 male students, and 4,053 students in Dubai with 4,011 females and 42 males.

Prof. Reyadh Al-Mehaideb, Vice-President of ZU, stressed that the university is always keen to provide a high-end learning experience for all its students, to qualify them to excel academically and acquire suitable skills and experiences for their lives ahead.

Al-Mehaideb conveyed the greetings of Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al-Qasimi, President of Zayed University, as she urged the students to commit to the highest standards of conduct and academic excellence, and motivated them to benefit from the level of education provided, and the exceptional services available at the university, to develop their professional skills.

This year, Zayed University will offer 23 bachelor’s degree academic programmes in the fields of business, media, information technology, international relations, humanities, environmental sciences, arts and design.
