Yemeni government troops, backed by UAE military advisers and fighter jets, stormed Al Sayed district

Yemeni government troops, backed by UAE military advisers and fighter jets, stormed Al Sayed district, Al Qaida’s key stronghold in the southern province of Shabwa, a military commander told Gulf News on Wednesday.

Mohammad Saleh Al Qumishi, the commander of the UAE trained Shabwani Elite Forces, said that his forces and UAE military advisers seized full control of Al Sayed after the militants fled to the neighbouring Marib and Shabwa provinces.
