Dubai: The thick fog on Sunday disrupted a number of flights and caused heavy traffic delays, but it was not all bad news as the weather truly made for a picturesque view of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
In his latest Instagram post, which was watched over 166,000 times, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared images of the thick blanket of fog that enveloped the city.
The video was accompanied with the caption, “Spectacular view. Dubai. My Dubai,” and received scores of comments from social media users who marvelled at the view.
Over the next few days, fog and mist is expected to continue across the country, with temperatures in Dubai dropping to a minimum of 12 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that the foggy weather is expected to continue until Tuesday, and police urged motorists to take extra caution while driving.
The weather bureau said that Sunday’s weather will be fair to partly cloudy in general and hazy at times.
The weather recorded by 8am was down at 19 degrees Celsius, with expected lows of 12 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, between eight and 16 degrees Celsius in internal areas, and 10 to 16 degrees Celsius in the mountain region.
