More than 8,500 people have visited the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) smart services centre since it opened two months back, proving to be a big hit.
The centre affiliated to the RTA’s Customers Happiness Centre is located at Umm Al Ramool and operates unmanned 24/7.
“The Smart Centre has processed 8,500 transactions since it opened two months ago. It is the first 24/7 unmanned smart centre in Dubai Government,” said Ahmad Mahboub, executive director of RTA customers service.
The centre offers services including traffic fines inquiries and payments, vehicle licensing, renewal of vehicle registration, replacement of lost/damaged vehicle registration card, renewal of a driving licence, replacement of lost/damaged driver licence, and seasonal parking cards.
Services on offer also include the issuance of certificates of vehicle ownership, insurance refund, driver experience, non-ownership of vehicle and clearance certificate. These services can be availed through two self-service kiosk machines in the centre.
Applications for seasonal parking cards topped the list as they accounted for (26 per cent) of the total transactions, followed by renewal of driver’s licence (25 per cent).
