P&O Ports employee who died in Somalia identified as facility manager Paul Formosa

DUBAI, 7th February, 2019 (WAM) — P&O Ports, a Dubai-owned entity within the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Authority, has identified the employee who lost his life at the recent incident on Monday, February 4th, at Bosaso Port, Puntland, as Paul Anthony Formosa, manager of the port facility.

In a statement today, Rado Antolovic, CEO of P&O Ports, stated, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and co-worker. He will be greatly missed, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this most difficult time.”

Following the recent incident at its port facility, the company has made available grief and trauma counselling to its employees. The company continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation by the authorities into the incident and reiterates its unwavering commitment to the success of the project.

“Operations at the facility have restarted following a security review, and P&O Ports will continue to pursue its development of the port in partnership with the government and for the benefit of the people of Puntland,” Mr Antolovic said.
