ABU DHABI, 26th April, 2018 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, has underlined the importance of “International Conference: The Arabic City of Jerusalem between Place and Status,” organised by the Arab Writers Union in collaboration with the Emirates Writers Union, in Abu Dhabi.
“The importance of the event stems from the special status held by Al Quds, including its sacred Islamic and Christian sites,” said Sheikh Nahyan, during his opening of the three-day conference in the presence of Issam Tawfeeq Mosalha, the Palestinian Ambassador to UAE, Habib Al Sayegh, Secretary-General of the Arab Writers Union and Chairman of the Emirates Writers Union, and delegations of the Arab writers’ unions participating.
“The UAE is this year celebrating the centennial of the birth of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who throughout his life used to hold the status of Al Quds in high esteem; then came President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, along with Their Highnesses, the Rulers of the Emirates, to follow in the founding father’s footsteps and set the Palestinian cause on top of their priorities,” the minister said.
He underlined the importance of reaching a fair solution to the Palestinian cause that ensures a decent and dignified life for the Palestinian people and puts an end to their suffering.
