ABU DHABI, 29th October, 2018 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, received an Irish parliamentary delegation, led by Parliament Speaker Sean O’Farrell in his palace today, in the presence of Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC.
They discussed relations between the UAE and Ireland and ways to enhance cooperation in the parliamentary field in particular and all domains in general. Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that UAE-Irish relations are historic and strong.
O’Farrell hailed the UAE’s cultural boom in all fields under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
He also stressed his country’s desire to develop ties with the UAE in the best interest of the two friendly countries.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Nahyan also received the Chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for relations with the Arabian Peninsula, DARP, Michele Alliot-Marie. They reviewed bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern as well as ways to develop them in all sectors.
Allot-Marie hailed the role played by the UAE Parliament and its active participation in various parliamentary events across the globe.
