Minister of Tolerance Office to organise ‘Zayed’s UAE Joins Us’

ABU DHABI, 30th April, 2018 (WAM) — The Minister of Tolerance Office is organising a large celebration next Friday in the labour cities on Yas Island to celebrate World Labour Day, which is celebrated on 1st May, under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance.

The celebration that carries the slogan ” Zayed’s UAE Joins Us” will comprise a variety of activities stressing the great attention received by workers in the UAE in light of the directives of the wise leadership led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.


Abdullah Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Acting Executive Director of the National Tolerance Programme, stressed the keenness of the UAE leadership, government and people to always welcome everybody without discrimination on the basis of race, colour or nature of work in addition to complete commitment to the international conventions related to human rights and workers’ rights in particular.

He said that the celebration will comprise a key speech by the Minister for Tolerance, cultural and artistic performances and declaration of an annual national initiative for the working classes in the country. He noted that the event will include many activities as well as the distribution of 8,000 gifts and 1,000 du sim cards, in addition to awareness programmes on the types of healthy lifestyles, correct financial planning, promotion of the culture of saving, and distribution of 2,000 meals to workers.

These activities will see the participation of UAE nationals and residents, especially the youth, in a brotherly environment reflecting the civilised nature of the UAE that embraces a variety of nationalities, cultures and religions.
