He added, “The changes that the world is witnessing these days in its environmental system and climate, and the dangerous behaviour and habits of men, pose enormous challenges on institutions responsible for the health of communities, including the Dubai Health Authority. Therefore, it has adopted a variety of preventive and curative projects and initiatives to reduce any potential health risks that might threaten men’s health.”
This year, the MHC brought together 30 expert speakers from various fields of medicine such as Urology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Dermatology, and even Psychiatry, who actively shared their deep insights into various key topics associated with men’s health including “Diabetes, Obesity and Testosterone”, “Male Fertility as a Marker of Good Health” and “Prostate Cancer” among others. Over the next two days, a total of 11 scientific sessions will focus on the latest trends and practices that are helpful in the early diagnosis and treatment of men’s health while the agenda also includes Live Transmission of 2 Penile Implant Surgeries and 2 Green Laser Turp Surgeries.
As experts focused their attention on key diseases impacting men, in particular, the latest studies show that heart disease is one of the leading health risks facing men today, with one in three men at risk. Keeping this in mind, experts highlighted that a healthy diet, healthy lifestyle, sufficient exercise and refraining from smoking are some of the key remedies that can prevent heart diseases among men. In addition, experts stressed that family involvement and an open environment that encourages men to access healthcare services are equally essential for improving men’s health.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman, Men’s Health Congress, said, “In the second edition of this highly specialised event, we aim to create a platform where new research in men’s health can be exchanged and new treatment methods can be discussed by bringing together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars from all over the world. It is also the perfect destination for practitioners and educators to present and showcase the most recent innovations, concerns and solutions adopted in the field of men’s health.”
“This year, the Men’s Health Congress is featuring a number of scientific sessions and lectures which are specially designed to focus on conditions and diseases that are more prevalent in men. In addition, an exhibition, running parallel to the conference will feature the participation of 10 companies, offering them a chance to keep up-to-date with the latest innovations in the market, display their products as well as network with existing and future partners and expected to attract more than 400 visitors from the UAE and abroad,” he added.
