DUBAI, 26th September, 2018 (WAM) — French Ambassador to the UAE, Ludovic Pouille, visited the School of Modern Skills in Dubai on Wednesday.
The school has more than 1,800 Emirati pupils – 98 percent of the total number of students, all of whom are learning the French language, beginning this fall semester.
During his visit, Pouille highlighted the importance of learning the French language, noting that it is the world’s fifth most spoken language with approximately 280 million speakers.
This latest visit is in line with the cross-cultural agreement signed by the UAE and France in July 2018, which entails that French lessons are to be introduced in the UAE’s public schools. It also celebrates the strong ties between the two countries, and the Emirati-French Cultural Dialogue 2018-2019.
