DUBAI, 10th December, 2018 (WAM) — The Federal National Council, FNC, Social, Labour, Population and Human Resources Affairs Committee discussed the policy of the Ministry of Community Development, MOCD, related to services for people of determination (persons with disabilities).
The meeting was held yesterday at the headquarters of the FNC’s General Secretariat in Dubai, and was chaired by Hamad Ahmed Al Rahoumi, Chairman of the Committee, and attended by representatives of the ministry.
During the meeting, the committee presented its remarks and the outcomes of its discussions and field visits to centres that provide services to people of determination.
The committee’s members included Aza bin Soliman bin Soliman, Committee Moderator, Saeed Saleh Al Rumaithi, Aisha Rashid Liateem, Salem Ali Al Shehhi, Aliaa Soliman Al Jassem and Mohammed Ahmed while the ministry’s delegation was led by Nasser Ismail, Assistant Under-Secretary for Social Care Affairs, and included several officials.
Al Rahoumi said that both sides discussed the outcomes of relevant field visits and the discussions held in many emirates, as well as many suggestions for developing the services provided to persons with disabilities, ensuring their integration in the country’s schools and the community, and helping families to raise their children.
He added that the committee is working on its related report, which will include a range of recommendations that will be sent to the FNC for discussion and approval.
