ABU DHABI, 24th February, 2018 (WAM) — The Emirates Defense Companies Council, EDCC, is making a debut appearance at the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference, UMEX 2018, which opens Sunday under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Council will utilise this premier regional show to highlight its vision and objectives, as well as the services it offers to the national companies operating in defense and security industries.
Sultan Abdulla Al Samahi, Acting Director General of the EDCC said, “We look forward to our participation at UMEX 2018 which comes as part of our ongoing efforts to build a platform for communication and effective networking and partnerships among industry players.”
He went on to say that, the Council also aims to facilitate development and sharing of new business ideas and connecting its membership with similar international associations.
Al Samahi emphasised the importance of taking part in event, saying it provides an opportunity for the defense industry to strengthen relations with globally renowned leaders in unmanned systems technology and to discuss the latest developments, trends and innovations in the unmanned and simulation systems.
“UMEX presents an ideal professional platform for the global manufacturers and operators unmanned systems to discuss latest technology and capability for both defense and commercial uses. It also provides an opportunity to establish business relations that will contribute in the development of national defense industries,” he noted.
Al Samahi said the EDCC stand at the exhibition is set to highlight its rapid and significant growth, where more than 63 private national defence companies, operating in aviation and aerospace, armoring systems, artillery systems, CBRNs, cyber security, logistical support, naval vessels, training and simulators, have now become members.
