DUBAI, 30th August, 2018 (WAM) — Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the people-of-determination-friendly government entity, participated in a session to approve the inclusion of people of determination in Dubai’s crisis and disaster management plans.
The session was organised by the Dubai Police General Command in cooperation with Dubai Executive Council and government partners. The participants presented a number of recommendations, ideas, and suggestions to protect people of determination during crises and disasters, and provide them with the highest levels of security and safety, and their readiness to confront problems before, during and after a crisis.
“DEWA is keen on making people of determination happy by providing an adaptive and flexible environment in line with the national policy to empower people of determination, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to create a barrier-free society that ensures empowerment and a decent life for those of determination.
DEWA supports the ‘My Community… A City for Everyone’ initiative, launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to fully transform Dubai into a friendly city for the people of determination by 2020,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
DEWA won the ‘People-of-Determination-Friendly Government Entity’ award at the 21st Dubai Government Excellence Programme 2018.
