DEWA celebrates Zayed’s Centennial

DUBAI, 6th May, 2018 (WAM) — Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, is organising a number of special activities this week in celebration of the centennial anniversary of the birth of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The activities highlight the legacy, values, life, and achievements of the late leader.

“The memory of the Founding Father late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is always in our hearts and minds. We take the opportunity of Zayed’s Centennial to commemorate his role in building the UAE, underline his national and humanitarian legacy, and his noble values and philanthropic work. Sheikh Zayed’s legacy will live forever thanks to his leadership, wisdom, and vision that has started the UAE’s path of excellence.

“The UAE has become a model for excellence and a model for happiness and positivity, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

The activities organised by DEWA this week include visits for employees to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and the Founder’s Memorial in Abu Dhabi, and Etihad Museum in Dubai. DEWA is also organising several internal activities to mark the occasion, as well as heritage competitions on its social media channels.
