DCT Abu Dhabi organises ‘Zayed Loyalty March’

ABU DHABI, 18th April, 2018 (WAM) — The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, DCT Abu Dhabi, has organised the Zayed Loyalty March, to mark the ‘Year of Zayed’ and the centenary of the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The march – which is an embodiment of the love, loyalty and gratitude that the Emirati nation have for the Founding Father of the Union – started at Al Ain National Museum, passed through Al Ain Oasis, and ended at Al Ain Palace Museum.

Speaking on the occasion, Jaber Saleh Al Merri, Director of Historic Environment Department at DCT Abu Dhabi, said, “Today, we take pride in what our beloved country achieved thanks to the wise vision and leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. What we have seen here today is the sincerest way of expressing the love borne in the hearts of all UAE inhabitants for our late founding father.”

Al Merri added, “In this year, in which we commemorate the centenary anniversary of his birth, we at DCT Abu Dhabi affirm that we will continue to follow in the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed, who carried our country to the heights of the world’s advanced nations. What we are witnessing today of development and civilisation is all thanks to Zayed’s unlimited kindness and tireless efforts to make the Emirati nation happy.

The Zayed Loyalty March is part of DCT Abu Dhabi’s community initiatives to continue the late Sheikh Zayed’s march and the march of loyalty to a leader who has always been close to his people, tended to their needs and made the UAE a country in which future generations can take pride.
