Coastal areas to have high humidity

Abu Dhabi: Humidity levels have risen at night in the coastal areas of the UAE since Friday and are expected to remain on the higher side over the next few days.

Some areas on the western coast of the UAE experienced extremely high levels of humidity on Friday night, reaching up to 90 per cent.


Officials at the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warned that high levels of humidity will lead to mist formation, reducing horizontal visibility levels.

The internal desert areas also saw the humidity on the higher side, ranging from 50 per cent to 80 per cent.

According to met officials, temperatures are expected to remain steady over the next week, hovering around the highs of 40 degree Celsius to 42C, with the minimum going down to 32C.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature went up to 47C in internal areas, while the mountains and the coastal areas had 41C.

The weather is expected be hazy, with moderate to fresh winds in general blowing dust and reducing horizontal visibility especially over exposed areas.

Arabian Gulf will be rough and Oman sea moderate.
