CDA organises Year of Zayed brainstorming session

DUBAI, 8th July, 2018 (WAM) — As part of its ongoing activities to spread the values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan throughout the Year of Zayed, the Community Development Authority in Dubai, CDA, organised a brainstorming session with various licenced non-government organisations, NGOs, to discuss innovative plans to promote Sheikh Zayed’s values among the different communities in Dubai.

The authority acknowledges human development, sustainability, respect and wisdom as the core values of the late Shaikh Zayed, the fundamental guidelines of any of its projects and initiatives, which are essential for cooperation with civil society organisations.

Due to its responsibility to promote social cohesion among the various communities living in Dubai, and to spread the UAE’s culture and values, the CDA engaged all licenced NGOs to discuss ideas that could work best to spread Zayed’s values among various communities residing in Dubai. The session sought to gather innovative ideas and to come up with unique programmes to celebrate the Year of Zayed and initiate community activities to highlight wisdom, respect, sustainability and human development the founding father’s values and principles.

The community’s youths participated in the session, which was joined by 40 civil organisation representatives. Many ideas and recommendations were suggested, and they will be further developed into activities.

Dr. Omar Al Muthanna, CEO, Licencing and Monitoring Sector, said that the session is part of the CDA’s efforts to align all segments of society and embrace the values of the late Sheikh Zayed.

“The year 2018 marks 100 years since the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE. This is an important occasion to celebrate his values and legacy. The Year of Zayed is a great opportunity to remind everyone who lives on this land about our optimum values that helped shape the country to be a place for everyone. We aimed from this session to encourage non-government organisations to contribute their programmes and activities to the Year of Zayed and to align all their programmes to the value of the late Sheikh Zayed,” he added.
