CATV, the first and only Chinese channel in the Middle East, started broadcasting from Dubai Studio City from Sep 2015 onward. President of CATV Mr. Hadi Liu, said the main objective of this channel is to boost and accelerate the Social, Cultural and Economic ties between China and Arab in the Middle East region.
China is one of Dubai’s most important business partners, with bilateral trade between the two set to grow four – fold to US$ 150bn by 2020, according to official sources. As China booms, so do business, trade and tourism with the UAE. Dubai is emerging as a crucial hub, along with the New Silk Road, a multi-trillion dollar trading highway that links Asia to Africa and Latin America directly through the Middle East. The emirates is not only providing an important regional base for Chinese State companies and private business but also offers Gulf companies, fresh opportunities to invest and market their Asian Services.
The channel will play a vital role in creating better awareness by way of offerings to the Chinese companies and investors that are keen to explore the Middle East market and also to serve and nurture the existing partnership between the UAE and China.
CATV is distributed in UAE via Set- top box of Du and Etisalat basic package across Asia and Middle East via Asiasat 7 Satellite, “Free to Air”, Feq: 4072/H/2810 channel 16, IPTV set-top boxes and social media platforms like WE Chat, YOUKU. It’s is also distributed to the “NINGXIA SATELLITE TV” channel on China’s Cable network. The programs will focus on infotainment and it will be in Chinese language.
