She was seriously injured late last night when the assailant Anand alias Anantappa stabbed her at her home. According to the police Anand, a resident of Marepally village in Ranga Reddy district was also working in the same place and was stalking Janaki in the name of love.

“Ten days ago he had visited the residence of Janaki and threatened her that if she does not reciprocate his love, he will kill her,” Kukatpally police inspector V Prasanna Kumar said.

Janaki, who hails from Rajam mandal in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, was staying in a rented room with another woman, Rupa.
