Ammar Al Nuaimi approves strategic indices, objectives of Ajman Vision 2021

AJMAN, 21st May, 2018 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, stated that Ajman, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, aims to improve government performance, with the cooperation of all government authorities and institutions that work according to well-researched plans and an ambitious vision toward a brighter future.

“Today in Ajman, we are witnessing positive outcomes and the results of our significant efforts to achieve the happiness of the emirate’s community,” Sheikh Ammar said.


He made this statement while approving the first series of indices and objectives of the strategic plan of the Ajman 2021 Vision, which include 21 indices and strategic objectives divided in three key pillars – “A Better Place to Live,” “Excellent Government” and “Green Economy.”

Sheikh Ammar praised the efforts of the emirate’s working team and stressed that the current period requires greater efforts to achieve their plans and witness results while highlighting the importance of monitoring relevant mechanism and revising indexes and objectives, as well as coordinating with government authorities to implement them.

The first series of the plan has four indices and objectives, which are part of the “Green Economy” pillar that Ajman aims to achieve by 2021 and includes developing local green economy sectors and creating a productive economy. The emirate also aims to receive 800,000 hotel guests, a 64 percent increase, and raise its hotel and hotel apartment occupancy rate to 80 percent, which reflects the progress of its overall tourism development plan that aims to achieve sustainable tourism. Ajman also aims to increase the percentage of skilled labour in its labour market to 42 percent by 2021.

In the “Better Place to Live” pillar, eight strategic indexes and objectives had been adopted to achieve the emirate’s objectives, to improve local infrastructure and public services and protect the environment for future generations. The emirate also aims to provide a more sustainable community lifestyle, by promoting mass transport and access for 4 million users of public transportation by 2021. Ajman aims to process 75 percent of its waste, to ensure sustainable consumption and improve its air quality by 90 percent.
