Abu Dhabi Financial Group (ADFG) has named Abu Dhabi government veteran Dr Saleh Al Hashemi as the managing director and chief executive of its capital markets arm, Integrated Capital.
Dr Al Hashemi joins the company from the General Secretariat of Abu Dhabi’s Executive Council, where he was the executive director of infrastructure and environment, a statement from ADFG said on Monday.
The Executive Council is the Abu Dhabi Government’s administrative authority that takes care of the emirate’s general policies and strategies.
Dr Al Hashemi, who has a PhD in chemical engineering from Tufts University in the United States, will also take over as chairman of Integrated Securities, ADFG’s brokerage arm.
Jassim Alseddiqi, the chief executive of ADFG, said Dr Al Hashemi “brings extensive experience and expertise from holding key positions within the business, academic and government sectors, and has the calibre to reinforce the status of Integrated Capital and Integrates Securities as leaders within the region’s financial services industry”.
Dr Al Hashemi, said that he looked “forward to ensuring that both businesses continue to grow and flourish over the months and years ahead”.
ADFG is an alternative investment manager with assets under management of over US$3.5 billion.
Integrated Capital, based in Abu Dhabi, offers equity and debt capital market services.
