Modelled on the international best creative scientific approaches, the 8-month UAE youth programme has been developed along 9 themes including happiness and positivity; values and ethics; creative leadership, science and technology; development projects; and the ideal leader of the 21st century.

The happiness and positivity theme was inspired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai’s vision, which he narrated in his book: Reflections on Happiness and Positivity.

The ‘leader of the 21st century’ theme, in particular, was inspired by the leadership traits of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid himself, who has always prioritised national talents, calling for training and empowering them to cater to the needs of the government of the future.

Launched in 2008, the UAEGLP includes four categories: Strategic Leaders Programme, Executive Leaders Programme, Future Leaders Programme, and UAE Youth Programme. The UAEGLP seeks to enable government bodies to achieve their strategic objectives, in addition to training a more qualified national workforce. It collaborates with world-class scientific and academic institutions and organises field visits to educate participants about pioneering countries and their best practices.
