Swift Processor – Qatar


Role Objective


To support the Communication Center Manager, supervise the Swift system and all associated operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy of all transactions, minimizing the risk of loss to the organization.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

• Create accurate and timely Outward Swift messages and manage Inward messages
• Ensure the secure delivery of incoming Swift messages to respective departments
• Ensure the secure and accurate handling of Incoming / Outcoming local and international faxes
• Perform SWIFT operations by ensuring efficient, complete and accurate transaction processing, operability of related systems and adherence to established and approved procedures and applicable QCB regulations in the execution of individual transactions
• Handle all enquiries from correspondents on a timely basis, consult as appropriate in identifying a solution for queries
• Ensure good communication with all interdependent divisions across the organization with timely resolution of any issues arising
• Maintain good knowledge of Customer Transfer (MT103) and cover payment (MT202) and other financial and non-financial messages, and share with the team
• Work with the team to assist in any migration, installation or upgrades of the Swift system
• In the case of system failure, manage the manual and accurate preparation of Swift messages
• Perform the printing, archival and query of all Inward / Outward released Swift messages
• Perform accurate and timely verification of tested telexes
• Strive to reduce errors in relation to all inward / outward SWIFT transactions
• Adhere to all internal policies and procedures and all applicable external regulations in relation to SWIFT transactions
• Maintain proper records and documentation pertaining to SWIFT transfers
• Co-ordinate with the help desk and user support department for resolving SWIFT related system issues
• Act as a key team player in the wider operational risk team, sharing knowledge and developing others at all opportunities
• Continually research latest developments in Swift and Communications including technology, business and management practices
