SHARJAH, 25th March, 2018 (WAM) — H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Sunday launched the new website and new identity of the University of Sharjah, UoS, in his office at the University.
Sheikh Sultan viewed a video presentation, which explained the new identity, as well as the content of the website and the pages, which are divided for different disciplines and programmes offered by the university.
It also elaborated on how to interact with the university’s distributed pages on social media and its various sites to access required information.
The new website of the UoS comes in a modern and advanced design, in support of its interactive level through various electronic links with the internal and external audience of the university in their different categories, in line with its status and ongoing development each year.
The ceremony was launched by Dr. Sharifa Al Marzouqui, Director of the Media Centre at the University of Sharjah. She pointed out that the support and guidance of Sheikh Sultan is the secret of the continuous achievements of the university.
The design of the new website takes into consideration the category of people with disabilities. An assigned link on the website can be used to access all the explanatory means and assistance that enables them to benefit from the information on the site.
As for the importance of scientific research to any academic institution, there are specialised pages that contain all information about institutes, centres and research groups, and reviews the main findings of scientific research. Also, separate pages have been allocated to each of the faculties in the medical college complex, with detailed information needed by visitors to the site.
The site also includes the activation of a new link, called “direct communication”, to provide information immediately and answer enquiries from the external audience about various faculties and departments at the university.
The ceremony was attended by a number of officials and members of the teaching and administrative bodies.
