Senior Digital IT Development Professional/Head – Bahrain Telecommunication Company – Bahrain


Job Objective


Responsible to lead and drive the digital IT Development section (comprising all customer-Channel applications including eShop, eCare, Mobile Application, IVR/CC, Chatbots, Retail etc) by developing robust and effective digital applications and solutions to support the businesses and internal divisions by providing the direction required for successfully meeting the business needs and objectives in terms of digital solutions within requisite timelines, budget and as per desired quality standard.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify strategic initiatives for the digital IT section and contribute to the overall strategic initiatives for the IT function aligned to the Organization Strategy
  • Drive the strategic initiatives for digital IT section
  • Monitor performance against the set KPIs
  • Work closely with the GM IT to prepare Capex and Opex budget for digital IT section
  • Prepare and monitor adherence to the budget for digital IT section
  • Analyse deviations and take corrective course of action
  • Identify and drive cost optimisation initiatives for digital IT section
  • Drive Digital IT Delivery Management
  • Drive Application Maintenance (L3) of Digital IT solutions supporting the IT Operations
  • Lead the design, development and deployment of core Solutions IT Design, Delivery & Development
  • Lead and manage the various aspects of projects within the department including deliverables, budget, risks and quality
  • Ensure Digital IT solutions are developed, acquired, and implemented economically, efficiently and effectively to support the business
  • Ensure internal development of Digital IT solutions
  • Lead and manage the relationship with vendors, development partners, contractors and system integrators
  • Ensure adoption and adherence to industry standard development methodologies and procedures used within department
  • Manage Software & Product Delivery Quality Assurance; execution of System Acceptance Tests
  • Manage Non-Production Environments
  • Identify opportunities and redesign policies, processes, systems / structural programs and procedures for continuous improvement of digital IT solutions
  • Ensure that information required by internal and external auditors provided within stipulated timelines and monitor coordination and resolution of all audit related issues
  • Identify training needs and nominate team members for training programs
  • Ensure timely completion of PMR process for self and the department
  • Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends
  • Ensure active participation in employee engagement surveys.

 

Qualification & experience:

Profile 1:

  • A Graduate degree in Computer Engineering/ IT / Computer Science or related domains from an internationally recognized University is a must

  • >10 years of IT experience, with a substantial proportion gained in a telecommunications business environment

  • 5-7 years of experience as first line manager of a team that deliver IT applications

  • Membership of a relevant and internationally recognized, professional body preferred

 

Profile 2:

  • A Post-Graduate degree in Computer Engineering/ IT / Computer Science or related domains from an internationally recognized University is a must

  • >5 years of IT experience, with a substantial proportion gained in a telecommunications business environment

  • 2-4 years of experience as first line manager of a team that deliver IT applications

  • Membership of a relevant and internationally recognized, professional body preferred
