Raza Abbas has joined Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa as its new Director of Business Development, with almost 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked in Switzerland, United Kingdom, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. He is a versatile senior manager and seasoned sales professional, whose wide-ranging, in-depth knowledge and expertise across the hospitality industry allied to valuable operational and commercial exposure, has been the key to a series of successful roles.

Abbas comes from United Kingdom and studied Hospitality Management at the Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh (U.K). Prior to his new appointment, he held the Cluster Associate Director of Sales in Hilton Hotels & Resorts Dubai, where he gained valuable experience.

He held different positions such as Senior Sales Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, Assistant Front-Office Manager and Restaurant Manager. All these experiences have allowed him to expand and develop his skills which play an instrumental role in the overall sales segment. In many hotels, he has been involved in the pre and post-opening phases, the complete department employment phase, the structure, trainings and standard operational procedures. Among them, we have the Double Tree by Hilton Ras al Khaimah Hotel, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah The Walk and the conversion of Hilton Al Hamra Fort Hotel & Beach Resort. Above all, he managed to become an excellent coach and team manager.

He brings extensive international and multi-cultural knowledge within local market research, competitor’s analysis, marketing plan, budgeting, setting price strategy, rate structure and overseeing all the sale’s segments; a dynamic individual with highly driven sales performance skills, having gained valuable insight to business design, tactics and strategy.

Raza Abbas was presented with many prestigious Hotel Awards such as the “Best Sales Team” of the Year 2011 Award and was nominated for the “Sales Person of the Year – Corporate 2013” Award within Circle of Excellence across Europe, Middle East & Africa region within Hilton Worldwide.
