Oversees the orientation process for new employees to the Pharmacy department.
Assures that all licenses, registrations, certifications, and other date-sensitive credentials are current for all appropriate staff.

Assures that all employees practice safe work habits.
Coordinates tracking, trending, and analysis to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Helps develop, implement, and monitor outcome indicators as appropriate.
Coordinates and monitors compliance with the requirements of external and internal reviewers.
Reviews and initiates appropriate action in response to data from performance measures, monitors, root cause analyses, and other evaluative indicators.
Plans and evaluates practice for the Pharmacy Department based on established professional and regulatory standards; recommends and implements changes to meet those standards.

Assure that staffing needs for the Pharmacy Department are managed on a day-to-day basis and that coverage for absences is provided.
Verifies orders entered by the provider for accuracy, interactions, dosing form, dose, and allergy.
Dispenses prescriptions, including controlled substances and narcotic drugs, based on MOH standards.
Provides consultation to physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals on drug information.
Participate in hospital quality program and be member of quality committees if chosen.
