DUBAI, 3rd February, 2018 (WAM) — The Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development has launched a yearlong programme called Impactful Leaders Programme, dedicated to providing leadership training to number of outstanding students. The programme will focus on the areas of the leadership mind-set, commitment, passion and creativity, within an intensive and comprehensive framework. The participating students were selected from over 1,000 ambitious young Emiratis, who exhibit great leadership potential, and who are working in both the public and private sectors.
The Impactful Leadership programme is the first programme to launch under the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Framework, based on the new approach of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development. The centre seeks to consolidate the vision of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make the UAE one of the most advanced countries in the world by 2071, under the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.
Mohammed Al Gergawi, Chairman of The Executive Office, said, “The training of leaders involves an integrated and comprehensive approach, combining theory, success in global experiences, local needs assessments and practical experience in the field. Psychological, moral and intellectual development are essential traits in leaders, who need to confidently meet the rapid changes and challenges of the future.”
Al Gergawi stressed that the design of the programme reflects the objectives of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Leadership Programme, which is inspired by the vision of His Highness to empower young Emiratis and arm them with the tools to lead the future. He continued, “Through this programme, we seek to make the UAE a regional centre for leadership, utilizing successful experiences from around the world, and building a unique UAE model that can also be shared with others.”
The Impactful Leaders programme, which will run for one year, was designed in collaboration with three international universities – UC Berkeley, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland and Imperial College London, incorporating global trends in leadership development.
The programme includes two educational training trips outside the UAE, which will allow participants to learn about the most relevant global trends within the scope of the UAE’s priority sectors.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Framework aims to develop eight key competencies: diversity and engagement, strategic prospecting, global citizenship, progressive thinking, passion and commitment, value creation, Human first, and curiosity and flexibility.
The framework also seeks to develop the competencies and abilities of young Emirati leaders in the fields of creative thinking, developing their abilities and skills to keep pace with the latest developments. The framework is based on learning through live experiences, which reflect the realities and the challenges of our time.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development will use this framework to create a comprehensive learning process centred around the concept of learning through experience and application, as well as of learning from peers and senior leaders in state institutions.
The vision of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development reflects the UAE’s mission to shape the future and meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, enabling the UAE to achieve its Centennial 2071 vision, and to become one of the best countries in the world.
