ABU DHABI, 15th May 2018 (WAM) – The Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has approved a strategy to support family stability in the emirate for 2018-2025.
Coinciding with the International Day of Families, observed on 15th of May every year, the strategy comes in line with the leadership’s vision for enhancing social welfare.
Identifying policies, legislations and services necessary for achieving social cohesion, the strategy conforms to the UN General Assembly recommendations to ensure that family is an effective contributor to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
It has been developed in conjunction with several entities concerned with family development in the country, atop of which comes the Family Development Foundation. Other entities involved in the development of strategy include the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, Statistics Centre ? Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Abu Dhabi Media and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments.
The strategy is built on four key strategic objectives which cascade into 20 strategic smart goals, to be achieved through 16 initiatives. The strategy performance and outcome are gauged by means of five Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
