Media companies and publishers in Abu Dhabi have been advised against advertising sales, discounts or special offers without the permission of the Abu Dhabi Business Center.
“It is important that Abu Dhabi-registered commercial entities and trademark advertisers obtain permission from Abu Dhabi Business Center in relation to sales, discounts, offers, and promotions of these trademarks,” said the emirate’s Department of Economic Development.
Businesses that get the Business Center’s permission to list prices will have their advertisements graced with the department’s logo.
The department was “keen to protect consumers and trademark owners’ rights”, said Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri, the department’s acting undersecretary.
Companies must secure the department’s permission to buy commercial advertisements in printed media.
